Terms of use.
Last updated: May 20, 2026
These terms cover use of themeliverse.com (the website for The Meliverse, the two-volume poetry collection by Dr. Meliton P. Zurbano). They do not cover book purchases or the books themselves — those are governed by the platforms that sell them (Amazon, Gumroad) and by the order arrangement between you and the author for print copies.
1. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to anyone visiting or interacting with themeliverse.com. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the site.
2. Who runs this site
The site is operated by Dr. Meliton P. Zurbano of Valenzuela City, the Philippines, who is the author and self-publisher of The Meliverse. References below to “the author,” “we,” or “us” refer to him. The site is built and maintained by alapaap on his behalf.
3. What you can do here
You may read pages about the book, view approved excerpts, write to the author, or fill in the print-order form. You agree not to:
- Use the site to violate any applicable law.
- Attempt to disrupt, scan, or compromise the site or its underlying infrastructure.
- Send unsolicited messages, malware, or harmful content through the email addresses on the site.
- Republish, scrape, or commercially redistribute substantial portions of the site without permission.
The author may restrict access or remove content at his discretion if these terms are violated.
4. The book and its excerpts
The text of The Meliverse, including all poems, prefaces, and the structure of the volumes, is copyright Dr. Meliton P. Zurbano. Excerpts shown on this site are published with the author’s permission and may be quoted for non-commercial, educational, or critical purposes with attribution and a link back to the relevant page. Republishing whole poems or selling derivative work requires the author’s written permission.
If you would like to use a poem in a classroom, in a publication, at a reading, or in any other public setting, write to hello@themeliverse.com first.
5. Buying the book
The e-book editions are sold by Amazon and Gumroad. Each platform has its own terms of sale, its own refund and dispute process, and its own privacy notice. By following a link from this site to one of those platforms, you leave themeliverse.com and become subject to their terms.
Print copies are made to order. By sending the order email generated by the form at /order, you and the author enter an informal print-order arrangement governed by the email exchange itself. The author will reply with payment instructions and confirm shipment after payment clears. Print copies typically ship in two to four weeks. The author may decline an order at his discretion, in which case any payment already received is refunded.
6. School visits, readings, classroom use
The author is a working educator. Invitations for school visits, readings, or classroom adoption of the book are welcome and are arranged through email. Reading a page on this site does not, by itself, create any commitment from the author to appear, speak, or provide materials.
7. Third-party links
This site links to external sites (Amazon, Gumroad, alapaap, and a few others) for reference. The author is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those external sites.
8. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the extent permitted by Philippine law, the author and alapaap disclaim all warranties including, but not limited to, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption, free of errors, or free of harmful components.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Philippine law, the author and alapaap are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site. This includes loss of data, business opportunities, or goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility. Our total aggregate liability for any matter related to your use of the site is limited to PHP 1,000 or the amount you paid to access the site (typically zero), whichever is greater.
Liability for a print copy you have ordered is separate from this limitation and is whatever Philippine consumer-protection law requires of the author as a seller.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms or your use of the site is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Valenzuela City and the National Capital Judicial Region, except where Philippine law mandates otherwise.
11. Changes
These terms may change as the site evolves. The “last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Contact
